WCC Joins Key MOU Signing to Strengthen Healthcare Workforce, Boost NLE Pass Rates, and Address Shortages
World Citi Colleges (WCC) is proud to announce its pivotal role as one of the 19 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) selected to participate in a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony. This ceremony took place at Malacanang on September 28, where key stakeholders, including the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Department of Health (DOH), the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC), and the Private Hospital Association of the Philippines (PHAPI), came together to launch the Clinical Care Associates Upskilling Program.
The Clinical Care Associates Upskilling Program is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at addressing the shortage of healthcare workers in the country. It is specifically designed to enhance the success rates of underboard nursing graduates and current Clinical Care Associates (CCAs) in the Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE). Beyond improving the quality of healthcare services provided by professionals, this program serves as a testament to the unified efforts of government agencies, hospitals, and higher education institutions in preparing nursing graduates for their board exams and future careers.
The MOU signing ceremony was witnessed by notable dignitaries, including President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., CHED Chairman J. Prospero De Vera III, DOH Undersecretary Kenneth Ronquillo, PSAC Healthcare Lead Paolo Maximo F. Borromeo, and Dr. Jose Rene De Grano, President of PHAPI.
This momentous occasion, facilitated by CHED and DOH, brought together representatives from selected HEIs, prominent private hospital groups, and leading public hospitals. Notably, WCC together with its own hospital, World Citi Medical Center (WCMC), was represented by WCC President Raymond Patrick V. Guico and WCMC Chairman Arlyn Grace V. Guico, who also serves as the Treasurer of PHAPI. This significant gathering featured over 50 public and private hospitals and 19 HEIs.
World Citi Colleges is deeply honored to be an integral part of this transformative initiative—- its dedication to nurturing healthcare professionals who will shape the future of the healthcare industry remains unwavering.
