POLICY STATEMENT

World Citi Colleges (WCC) is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where all individuals feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute fully to the academic community. Through intentional practices and policies, we strive to create a rich educational environment reflective of diverse perspectives and backgrounds.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Diversity and Inclusion Policy is to promote and uphold a diverse and inclusive environment at WCC. This policy also reflects WCC’s commitment to fostering community that respects and values individual differences, ensuring that all members can thrive. 

SCOPE

This policy applies to all students, staff, faculty, and visitors of WCC and encompasses all college facilities, events, and activities.

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to ensure its relevance and effectiveness in promoting diversity and inclusion at WCC.

PRINCIPLES

Commitment to Equality and Non-Discrimination: WCC is dedicated to ensuring an environment free from discrimination and harassment based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, and other characteristics protected by law. We promote equal opportunities in education, employment, and participation in campus life for all individuals.

Embracing Diversity: We recognize and celebrate the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of all members of the WCC community. We promote a culture of inclusion that acknowledges and respects differences and fosters mutual understanding and respect among all individuals.

Access and Opportunity: We ensure equitable access to educational resources, programs, and services for all students, including those from historically underrepresented and marginalized groups. We actively work to identify and eliminate barriers to participation and success within the academic environment.

Inclusive Curriculum and Policies: We incorporate diverse perspectives and voices into the curriculum and academic programs to reflect the richness of society and promote critical thinking.

Awareness and Education: We provide ongoing training and development opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to enhance awareness of diversity and inclusion issues and best practices. We foster discussions and educational programs that promote understanding and address biases within the campus community.

Engagement and Participation: We encourage active participation from all community members in diversity and inclusion initiatives, committees, and events. We collaborate with student organizations, community groups, and external partners to promote inclusivity on campus and in the broader community.

IMPLEMENTATION

We established a Diversity and Inclusion Committee responsible for overseeing the implementation of this policy, developing initiatives, and assessing progress towards diversity and inclusion goals.

We develop guidelines to assist departments in implementing diversity and inclusion practices. We provide training resources for faculty, staff, and students on topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

REVIEW AND UPDATE

We conduct an annual review of this policy and its implementation, preparing a report on progress made in diversity and inclusion efforts. 

By implementing this Diversity and Inclusion Policy, World Citi Colleges reaffirms its commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive educational environment. By aligning our efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals, we strive to ensure that every member of the WCC community feels valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
