POLICY STATEMENT

At World Citi Colleges (WCC), our students' safety and well-being are paramount. This Student Safety Policy outlines our commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students. 

PURPOSE

This policy establishes guidelines  to ensure the safety and security of all students within the WCC community, promoting a safe learning environment that fosters personal and academic growth.

SCOPE

This policy applies to all WCC students, faculty, staff, and visitors on campus and during college-sponsored activities.

PRINCIPLES

Commitment to Health and Safety: WCC is dedicated to maintaining a safe campus environment that supports the physical and mental well-being of all students. We will ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and best practices related to campus safety and emergency preparedness.

Inclusive and Supportive Environment: We promote a culture of respect and inclusivity where diversity is valued, and all students feel safe and supported. We address bullying, harassment, and discrimination proactively, ensuring that students know how to report incidents and receive appropriate support.

Mental Health and Well-Being: We provide access to mental health resources, counseling services, and wellness programs designed to support students' mental and emotional well-being. We promote awareness of mental health issues and reduce stigma through educational initiatives.

Education and Training: We implement safety education and training programs to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance their safety and that of their peers. We provide training for faculty and staff to respond appropriately to safety concerns and emergencies, ensuring a coordinated approach to student safety.

Collaboration with Local Authorities and Community: We collaborate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and health organizations to enhance campus safety and emergency preparedness. We engage with the community to promote safety initiatives and awareness, working together to create a secure environment for all.

IMPLEMENTATION

We assign a Student Affairs Officer responsible for overseeing the implementation of this policy and coordinating safety initiatives across the institution.

We encourage faculty and staff to actively promote student safety and support a culture of vigilance and preparedness.

We develop comprehensive emergency preparedness and response plans, including evacuation procedures, crisis communication protocols, and first-aid training for key personnel.

We regularly review and update these plans to ensure they reflect current best practices and the needs of the campus community.

We conduct an annual report outlining safety initiatives, incidents reported, and improvements to the campus safety environment. This report will be shared with the relevant stakeholders to maintain transparency and accountability.

REVIEW AND UPDATE

We will have regularly review the effectiveness of the Student Safety Policy and its implementation, gathering feedback from students, faculty, and staff. We will use assessments and surveys to identify areas for improvement and ensure that safety measures remain relevant and effective.
