POLICY STATEMENT

This Sustainable Investment Policy aims to align our investment strategies with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to ensure our financial decisions support long-term social, environmental, and economic sustainability.

PURPOSE

This policy outlines WCC’s investment decisions to promote responsible investing that aligns with our mission and values while contributing to sustainable development.

SCOPE

This policy applies to all investment activities WCC undertakes, including endowment funds, operating reserves, and other financial assets the institution holds.

PRINCIPLES

WCC seeks to invest in companies and projects that demonstrate positive social impact, including those that promote diversity, equity, and community development.

Environmental Stewardship: WCC investments will favor environmentally responsible companies that implement practices to reduce their ecological footprint and promote sustainability. We will also engage and collaborate with owners who actively integrate sustainable investment practices and policies. 

Transparency and Reporting: We will maintain transparency in investment practices by providing regular updates to stakeholders regarding investment strategies, performance, and alignment with sustainability objectives

IMPLEMENTATION

We forge strategic partnerships with industry leaders, finance professionals, and impact investors to identify and pursue investment opportunities that resonate with our core vision and values.

Our Budget Committee thoroughly evaluates proposals for capital expenditures, prioritizing sustainable infrastructures and initiatives that promise positive impacts across financial, environmental, and social dimensions.

We regularly evaluate investments and partners to assess their commitment to sustainable practices and performances. 

REVIEW AND UPDATE

The policy shall be reviewed and amended annually to address emerging sustainability issues, changes in the regulatory environment, and advancements in sustainable investment practices.
