No Poverty

Embracing SDG 1 In Our Mission: A Commitment to Poverty Alleviation and Community Empowerment through Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Damayan.

World Citi Colleges (WCC) has long believed education and community service can augment lives and promote long-term development. Our institutional skepticism aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 1, “No Poverty,” which highlights that poverty is a multifaceted issue that includes social, educational, and environmental elements that impede communities' capacity to grow and prosper. Through our committed programs, Oplan Damayan and Brigada Eskwela 2024, WCC reiterates our commitment to overcoming these obstacles, providing opportunities, and fostering robustness in our adopted communities.

Education, a potent instrument for individual and community change, is at the forefront of the battle to enforce poverty. World Citi Colleges has partnered with Kalumpang’s local community in alignment with Brigada Eskwela 2024 to reinforce educational facilities, establishing areas where kids and teens may study, mature, and acquire skills for a vivid future. The notion of “Bayanihan,” or teamwork, has always been epitomized by leaders and volunteers to work together to nurture the next generation. World Citi Colleges engagement in Brigada Eskwela extends beyond the scope of fixing classrooms and supplying educational resources. WCC acceded that meeting young people's and their families' basic needs is a prerequisite to reducing poverty. WCC imparts kids the means to break free from the cycle of poverty by expanding access to quality education and building a secure and stimulating learning environment. Education is one of the best ways to move up the social ladder. Providing support to Kalumpang WCC is vital to the community’s vivid future. By doing this, WCC seeks to spawn a positive ripple effect wherein empowered kids grow into capable citizens prepared to lead and improve their communities.

Typhoons often threaten the tranquility and security of Marikina, a city noted for its valor and resiliency. In light of this, WCC launched Oplan Damayan to extend our dedication to SDG 1, offering critical and prompt assistance to victims of typhoons and other natural disasters. Oplan Damayan encapsulates WCC’s support for the people of Marikina throughout arduous times by providing them with financial help, encouragement, empathy, and hope.

As an institution, World Citi Colleges is steadfast in its conviction that the struggle against poverty necessitates compassionate action, community cooperation, and access to education. On top of that, to meet the needs of our community, these actions will spur our students, employees, and partners to be engaged citizens and to share responsibilities. By working together, we can foster a more promising and resilient life.
